I'm back

I didn't get off to a great start........I had a couple of down weeks, where I couldn't stick with anything, so the calorie counting went out of the window and I ended up putting on 2 lbs......so not the best start, but hey, in the old days it would've been far worse than a 2 lb gain

Then last week I was ill, quite poorly and wasn't really sure how well I was sticking to my daily calorie allowance and thought maybe the medication might knock me off track, but I weighed in today and have lost 4lbs.....which I'm thrilled with, as I really did think it was going to be another 'lost' week.

So now I just have to get well, regain my strength and lose again this week.....

So far, so good....

Well I've had a great few days, I've stuck within my calorie limit - woohoo - and am still feeling very positive about losing weight, but I think that's more to do with the fact that I'm not calling this a diet, and I have taken the pressure off myself for not getting quick results.

On the exercise front, I haven't done much, been busy indoors clearing out stuff and in between that I've been sat at my machine sewing. I still have a few twinges from a frozen shoulder, so may get my hubby to massage that for me and see if I'm fully mobile again tomorrow.

I am desperate to check the scales, but I am holding off until Friday, which is my weigh in day.

Weigh in.....

Well I stayed the same on this weeks weigh in......and that was pretty much what I expected, but hey, at least I didn't gain any weight, which is a real plus for me :)

Onwards and upwards (or should that be downwards) I must try and do some exercise this week.  Exercise combined with less calories should show a difference next week.

I'm feeling very positive and that, for me, is the biggest battle won.....I really think my head is in the right place for this attempt at weight loss :)  I'm not going to put myself under too much pressure, I know it's more important to learn to eat better and get an exercise routine going than how quickly I can shed the pounds.  So here's to the week ahead.

To start with....

....you have to take just one small step.

So here is my small step.  A blog to help me (hopefully) on my weight loss journey.  It'll be a long one 'cos I have a lot to lose, but I'm hoping having the blog will help keep me focussed and sometimes it's nice to have a reminder of where it all started :)

Over the years I have done just about every diet there is - some seemed sensible, some crazy and some a little bit dangerous!!!!!  None of them worked, well I tell a lie.....the diet worked but I never learned enough from them to stay at the new weight.  So I have gone back to basics.  Less calories in and more calories used - it will be a slow steady weight loss, but one that doesn't restrict me and hopefully make me feel like a normal person (not someone on another diet) and one that I can manage to maintain afterwards :)

So here's to the start, look forward to anyone who wants to pop in and see how I'm doing and please don't be shy if you do stop by, leave a comment :)
